This house was built by my grandparents in 1954, they lived here happily until 1981 and my aunty was born in the back bedroom in 1957. My parents bought the house from my grandparents in 1981 and I was 6 when I came to live here. I’ve spent all my childhood Christmases here and so many family parties.
This has always been such a happy house and when I had the opportunity to buy it in 2019 I jumped at the chance.
Knowing the whole history of the house has helped me feel super chilled here. I’ve enjoyed making the house our family home. We have had so many smiles and laughter in this house!
I’ve loved coming home and putting my keys on the front door (its original from 1954) it’s always felt like home and a safe place to be.
My favourite room now is the kitchen/living area, it is the heart of the house, it is everything to everybody, we all gather in the kitchen, its where we head to after a long day.
I’ve lived in every bedroom of the house at some point in my life, my favourite is the master bedroom though, its so big and cosy.
There have been so many amazing memories in our house, most of mine and my brother’s childhood birthdays/parties, leaving on the first day to go to senior school, having bonfire parties in the field behind us with all the other kids from the lane, leaving my house on my wedding day, and especially the Christmas Days’ we have had here, all the presents being opened amongst a sea of screwed up wrapping paper.
I will truly miss the horses in the field, the quietness when you close the front door. the wood pigeons echoing down the chimney, the squirrels running up and down the fences.
If the new family buying this house has half as many amazing memories this property has given me, they will have a wonderful life here!
