Due to improving market conditions and our on-going success, Beresfords have recently expanded into Great Dunmow after acquiring the highly regarded Estate Agents, Foxton Hayes.

Although we already have a presence in the town and surrounding villages through our Country Homes division, we believe that our core traditions of family principles, excellent service and independent status integrates perfectly with the Foxton Hayes brand.

What is particularly important to us is that the branch will not be starting from scratch as the existing team are still there. Combining this local knowledge with the high levels of experience that the Beresfords’ team members have who have transferred to the office, the two brands blend together perfectly.

In Foxton Hayes there was an established, independent family estate agency. Clients will have that in Beresfords, alongside a working ethos dating back almost 50 years and comprehensive marketing support thanks to a network of offices throughout Essex and into Greater and Central London. This will make e a significant difference to how properties are marketed in the Dunmow area.

However, it’s not just comprehensive marketing that we will be bringing to Great Dunmow. As one of the largest independent estate agents in the South East, we are able to market clients’ properties across each of our offices, thereby offering much wider exposure for properties than many other local agents.

We have the ability to access people outside of the area that a lot of other agents won’t be able to offer. Latest software means that we’ll immediately be able to market properties to people not just in nearby areas such as Chelmsford, but further south in the county and into London.

From our data we know that up to 40 per cent of house hunters looking in north Essex are not from the local area but are moving out from further south in the county. This happens to be where Beresfords’ branches are located and our new Dunmow office will market properties to every one of those buyers.

Local knowledge

Living in Great Dunmow
Great Dunmow is an ancient market town in the Uttlesford district. The second Halifax Rural Areas Quality of Life Survey ranked Uttlesford District as the 4th best place to live in the UK out of 114 rural authority areas surveyed. There are most certainly some exceptional rural and country properties in the area together with some of the most beautiful and well-kept villages in Essex. Not only are there substantial character properties outside of the town, many are situated within the town centre itself. In addition there are good quality developments taking place within the boundaries of Dunmow. What's more, the commuter links are second to none. There is a railway station either side: Braintree to the east, and Bishop's Stortford to the west, which go straight into Liverpool Street on different lines in around an hour or less.
