McCarthy Stone - Watson Place

Trinity Road Chipping Norton OX7 5AJ

Our Watson Place Retirement Living PLUS development offers you the opportunity to own an apartment, set on the border of the Cotswolds in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside.

In all aspects of the development's design, our aim is to make your life easier, from raised sockets in all apartments to an on-site Bistro for when you don't feel like cooking. You'll also receive one hour's domestic assistance per week.

Set on the border of the Cotswolds in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, Watson Place has both one-bed and two-bed apartments available. With 59 apartments, there are plenty of opportunities for socialising with your fellow residents, and the tastefully decorated communal lounge and beautifully landscaped garden will be great places to do so.

The Estates Manager and our team of trained staff - one of whom is always on site - provide care and support as needed. With our flexible care packages, you'll only pay for the support you need and use. On top of these packages, you'll find call points in you're apartment, there'll be a 24-hour call system for emergencies and a camera entry system will allow you to see who's calling before you let them in.

A walk of less than 10 minutes will bring you into the centre of Chipping Norton and all it has to offer, from its theatre and local museum to a host of high-street and boutique shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. There's also a doctor's surgery, pharmacy and leisure centre in the town and, along with various supermarkets, you'll also find a delicatessen, a fishmonger and two butchers.

Local Area

Chipping Norton has a long and fascinating history. Visit the local museum to browse the significant collection of local artefacts and learn more about the town's history. What's more, weekly markets have been held here since the 13th century! In keeping with this tradition, Market Square holds regular farmers markets where you can buy fresh produce and locally made goods.

Hook Norton Brewery is a must-visit whether you're a beer-drinker or not. The mill at this traditional brewery is powered by steam and the ale is delivered locally by shire horses! Take a tour of the brewery and museum to discover fascinating historical artefacts, visit the shire horses' stables and, if the mood strikes, sample the handcrafted award-winning ales and beers.

Just five minutes into the Cotswolds by car brings you to the Rollright Stones, an ancient megalithic stone circle reputed to be older than Stonehenge. And, among the Cotswold's many delights, why not visit the Cotswolds Farm Park? This rare breeds conservation centre is run by BBC Countryfile's Adam Henson. A great day out for all the family, take a tractor safari to learn all about the many animals that call the farm home.

Further afield is the sleepy village of Bampton. As well as being a charming, picturesque place to visit on a sunny morning, it also served as the fictional village of Downton in the filming of the award-wining TV series Downton Abbey. It's church, library and houses featured regularly in the show.

And just 20 minutes by car from the development is Blenheim Palace - a world heritage site that's great for a family outing. Take a tour of the palace's opulent rooms, discover its rich history and marvel at the 2000 acres of landscaped parklands, including a beautiful lake and formal gardens.

The properties at this development are leasehold properties with a term of 999 years from and including 01/06/2018
