The architectural features of the exterior are the horizontal proportions of the ground floor, first floor and roof which suggests a gradual growth and provides a very pleasant effect.

The Lounge with its oak stanchions, main beams and half timbers, black with age, gives a very restful and satisfying atmosphere which visitors are loathe to leave after enjoying its comfort; being well furnished with antique period furniture, it has a charm and beauty of olden times. The lounge has a superb inglenook fireplace featuring a fireback plaque dated 1588 and a coat of arms plaque, heavy oak bressumer and niches either side with leaded windows. In the study we have a stone fireplace with fireback dated 1618.
