Whittington is a village which lies approximately 3 miles south east of Lichfield and is one of the most sought-after places to live. Two canals pass through the parish and there are many interesting buildings within this historic village.

One of the most historic buildings in the village is The Old School. In 1741, Sarah Neal started a school for poor children. When Reverend Levett died in 1802 (leaving a legacy), a handsome gothic building for a girls' and infants' school was built in 1864. Children continued to be educated here until 1968 when a new school was built in Common Lane.

The Gothic style school and its site, has been sympathetically restored, enhanced and developed by the Landlord.

Truant Cottage on the edge of the development is a deceptively spacious detached character cottage. It is believed to date back to approximately 1720 and was, in fact, the original school before The Old School was built. It is well presented throughout and has many original character features such as Inglenook fireplaces, original bake ovens and beams to the ceilings or exposed on the walls throughout. It has new carpets, new decoration, new double glazed windows, Hi Tech Worcester Bosch gas heating system with NEST control plus its own personal electric car charger also. SKY is also fitted.

Enter through the main electric gates at the front of the development and drive to the rear of the garage where two allocated parking spaces can be found. Alternatively, the double gates can be opened for parking in the courtyard for the use of the electric car charger.

The courtyard garden has a double garage with studio/office above plus separate toilet. The patio area has raised borders and an old well was found in the garden and restored.

A door leads to a rear hallway with cloaks/wc off. A kitchen overlooking the courtyard has low beams and central brick stack which is surrounded with quality wooden units, complimentary tiling and granite worktop plus Belfast sink. There is a large range cooker plus a dishwasher, washer/dryer and fridge are integrated within the units. There is also a hatch through to the dining room.

The dining room has a large feature fireplace with original brickwork, hardwood flooring and beams to the ceiling. This is a spacious room which could easily fit a dining table and sofa if required. There is a large double cupboard where the boiler can be found along with storage shelving and a chest freezer.

The lounge is light and spacious and has a main feature Inglenook fireplace with decorative side bake oven. There is a door out onto Main Street with porch over plus there is also a door out into the conservatory. A final room completes the ground floor and would be ideal as a playroom or second sitting room.

The stairs lead up to the first floor where a spacious landing area can be found - ideal for a sofa or chairs/desk. The stunning family bathroom has a roll top bath, wc, basin, bidet and double shower cubicle plus has Kardean flooring. There are two double bedrooms (one particularly quirky as the main chimney breast comes up through the middle of the room) and a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower over the bath.

With the historic town of Lichfield just a few minutes away, Trent Valley train station within a short drive and the A38 on your doorstep, these properties are ideal for the professional looking for an idyllic but convenient location with top quality accommodation.

Whittington has a wide variety of community groups and activities, several shops, two village pubs (including The Dog across the road from the development and The Bell) and a popular Local Food & Craft Market. As well as the traditional Church Fete, the Parish Council organize, an annual Countryside Fair with proceeds supporting village community groups and projects. The Staffordshire Regiment Museum is also close by at the historic Whittington Barracks along with the Whittington Heath golf course described as "the best Harry Colt designed course in Staffordshire". The properties are also within the King Edward V1 school catchment for senior school and 6th form.
