Combe is one of the most sought-after villages in the area, thriving and friendly with a pretty village green, historic 12th century church, pub and a renowned primary school. The Combe Reading Room, which was built with funds raised by Adela Brook, of Combe House, in the late 19th century is regularly used by a great many villagers. It hosts Parish Council meetings, exercise classes, meetings of the Women’s Institute, children’s parties, fund-raising events including cream teas in July and August, and serves as the local polling station.
The nearby market towns of Charlbury and Woodstock provide a good range of shops and amenities and there is also good access to Oxford and Witney. There is a regular rail service to Oxford and London Paddington from Hanborough station and from Oxford Parkway to Marylebone. There is also a small station at Combe Halt and a bus service.
Set amongst rolling countryside, close to the estates of Blenheim and Cornbury, there are numerous countryside walks to be enjoyed along the nearby footpaths and bridleways, including the Oxfordshire Way.
The village is within easy reach for the Oxford school run; the Dragon, Summerfields, Oxford High, Magdalen College School, St. Edwards and Headington to name but a few. Abingdon, Radley, Cothill, Cokethorpe, St Hughes, Bloxham and Tudor Hall are all relatively nearby. There is a private Oxford schools bus service from the village.
Bicester Village is about 16 miles from the house, with Soho Farmhouse being about 12.5 miles distant.

Gravelled driveway parking for up to 4 cars. To the rear is a low maintenance garden, mainly laid to lawn, with a garden shed

    Broadband availability and predicted speed

Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:

    Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
    Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
    Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s

The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2

Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength

Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:

Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
