The Boat House was built in the 1980s on the site of the old Ferryman’s Cottage. The architect designed house is reported to have won the Heritage Award in the 1980s when it was originally built and was later extended to include an extra room downstairs.

French doors give access to the distinctive red balcony at the far end, which overhangs the river – an idyllic spot for watching life go by. Also upstairs is a shower room and further bedroom.

Outside, the fenced and paved garden wraps round the house on three sides. There is parking for several cars via double gates to the side. Well planted flower beds lead down to the riverfront where a bench is placed to sit by the water, catch the sunshine and enjoy the view.
