The A505 is approximately 1.5 miles to the south of the village which in turn leads to the M11 down to Stansted Airport and London and to the west is the A1 accessed via the Baldock bypass.

There is a Montessori nursery and a primary school in the village together with secondary schooling at Melbourn Village College, plus independent schooling for all ages being available in Cambridge including St Faiths, The Perse, The Stephen Perse Foundation, The Leys, Sancton Wood and St Mary's.
