west of Dunoon. This is a rural area and it should be
noted that after a point the road becomes a track.
Pedestrian only ferry services are provided by Argyll
Ferries between Dunoon and Gourock with onward train
connection to Glasgow Central Station.
Regular vehicular services are provided by Western Ferries between McInroy's Point (Gourock) and Hunter's Quay (Dunoon) allowing easy access to Glasgow and surrounding area.
On exiting Western Ferries Terminal turn right and follow
the shore road to Sandbank. At the T-junction turn right
and continue along the A815 passing the Sandhaven
development. Turn left at Glen Massan / Invereck
signpost. After 0.2 miles turn left. Continue along this
(private) road for a further 0.4 miles. At the next T-junction
turn right and continue for 0.1 miles to a fork in
the road. Take the left hand fork and continue for 0.2
miles. The access to the Steading is on the right hand side,
partially hidden.
It may be prudent to park, off road, at this entrance and
continue on foot.
The local area may be reached by road via the A83 from Glasgow passing Loch Lomond and the Rest and Be Thankful then the A815.
