There are an abundance of period features around the home ranging from mullion windows and exposed beams to open fireplaces and stripped wooden floors.

The ground floor offers flowing accommodation comprising of a welcoming entrance hall with practical tiled floors, impressive kitchen with feature Aga and island unit, sitting room with wood burner and dining room that leads into the drawing room with direct access to the garden.

The first floor bedrooms are accessed off two separate staircases, which allows for versatile and flexible use of the upper floor. To one side there are two bedrooms and a bathroom and the other side has four bedrooms, bathroom and shower room. The upper floor works well for guests or those needing a more private work space or area. Overall, this delightful home is one that has to be viewed to be fully appreciated.

To the front of the property is a paved driveway area suitable for parking multiple vehicles. The rear garden is private and enclosed with a large paved terrace leading off the house, ideal for entertaining and al fresco dining in the summer months. There is a step up and access to a small lawn area safely enclosed by tall stone walls. The garden as a whole provides a safe space for young children and pets.

Location

Charter House boasts an enviable position within the heart of Colerne just off the high street behind stone walls and tall hedges. Colerne is an attractive and popular south Cotswolds village, approximately 7 miles from the historic Georgian city of Bath.

Historic in its own right, Colerne is a thriving village surrounded by stunning countryside with far reaching views to the south over the delightful Box valley.

The village offers excellent amenities including a store, newsagent, florist, two public houses, Colerne C of E Primary School and Early Years Playgroup and a well setup rugby club with youth teams. There is well-regarded schooling in both the public and private sectors in the nearby towns of Chippenham, Corsham and the city of Bath.

There is also a regular bus service into both Bath and Chippenham. For the commuter, there is easy access to Junctions 17 and 18 of the M4 and to London Paddington from Bath Spa or Chippenham train stations. For Michelin star dining or a wonderful spa experience, Lucknam Park country house hotel is within 1.5 miles and The Manor House Hotel and Golf Club in Castle Combe is within 6 miles.
