There are railway stations in Cupar, Leuchars, Markinch and Ladybank with Edinburgh Airport no more than forty-five minutes to the south. The busy regional airport at Dundee offers a good selection of short-haul flights. To the east of the farmhouse (and approached by the initial part of the shared driveway) are a range of quality modern homes.

DESCRIPTION
Mayfield Farmhouse dates from the 1860s and is a charming detached stone-built property extending to about 236 sqm over two levels. The property benefits from charm and character and many of the original features have been left unchanged. In more recent years it been run as a nursery and a café but whilst some of the business features remain, it is now once again a private house. The farmhouse is approached from south-west by a vestibule within the feature protruding turret section, which leads into the hallway at the heart of the house. The hallway gives access to the ground floor accommodation including a large vaulted conservatory with log burning stove, dining room, office, sitting room bedroom 4, kitchen, utility and the back hall which leads to a bootroom, wc and cloakroom. Stairs lead from the front hallway to the first floor which has a further kitchen, 3 double bedrooms, bathroom and within the turreted part of the property is the wc.

Mayfield Farm Cottage is situated to the east of the farmhouse and offers a fitted kitchen/family room, utility room, double bedroom and bathroom. Built onto the west elevation is a more recent addition which offers a reception/play room with vaulted ceiling, Aga, wood burning stove and breakfast island. Mayfield Farm Cottage is currently let to a tenant achieving a rental of £650 (pcm). Vacant possession can be provided if required.
