A similar distance in the other direction is Camberwell, home of many great local restaurants, and some of the best falafel in London. The nearest pub is the Crown and Anchor, (five mins. from the house), which specialises in craft and imported beer.The Co-op, Tesco, a large Morrisson's and a LIDL are all a short walk from the house.

Alternately, there are various independent grocery shops in Camberwell and Brixton, and outdoor markets in Myatt's Fields and Oval at the weekend. If you just need to pop out for a pint of milk or similar, there are several small shops and a coffee shop on Lougborough Road, five minutes from the house.

If you want to stretch your legs, round the corner is Myatt's Fields park, a beautiful Victorian park, complete with tennis courts, a cafe, and seasonal flower beds.
