Balmaha is a village on the eastern shore of Loch Lomond in the council area of Stirlingshire. The village is a popular tourist destination and a resting spot for walkers on the West Highland Way. Boat trips leave from Balmaha for the town of Balloch and the village of Luss as well as near-by Inchallion Island. Balmaha sits at the westerly foot of Conic Hill and is roughly 30 kilometres (20 miles) along the West Highland Way if coming from Milngavie. For the outdoor lovers there are a wide range of outdoor activities in the wider area such as; tree climbing, Go-Ape zip lining, bik-ing, fishing, golf, hill walking, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, stand up paddle boarding, wake-boarding and many more outdoor activities. The popular Conic Hill takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour and Ben Lomond around two and a half hours to climb. Milarrochy Bay is close by and is popular for outdoor swimming and paddle boarding.
