Description
The White House is approached by a 400m long driveway which was once the main driveway to the neighbouring country house called The Lands of Loyal. The driveway sweeps around the front of The White House and to a parking area at the side. The property was built in 1969 on what is believed to have been an old kitchen garden . The house is arranged over one storey with large picture windows designed to make the best of the extensive south facing view. Although there is a front door which opens onto the terrace, the main entrance is via the back door which has a practical covered entrance and a utility/freezer room on one side and the kitchen on the other. The kitchen has space for a small dining table and looks over the beautifully planted back garden. There is direct access from the kitchen to the living room, while the dining room and sitting room are situated at the south side of the house with picture windows framing big views and filling the rooms with light. A pretty reclaimed Adam style fireplace creates a lovely focal point in the sitting room. At the east end of the house there are three double bedrooms (one ensuite) a bathroom and two large fitted cupboards. There is also a floored attic.
Outside
The garden at The White House is a particular feature of the property having been thoughtfully planted so that it has colour throughout the year. There is a sunny terrace at the front of the house, expanses of neat, flat lawn, herbaceous borders, shrubs and rockeries. At the eastern border of the property is a lovely strip of woodland and mature trees include a beautiful red sequoia.

Location
The White House is situated on a south facing hillside to the northeast of Alyth, on ground that was once part of The Lands of Loyal Estate. The property has a terrific view over the Vale of Strathmore. Famed for its fertile farmland and soft fruit production, the location is rural and scenic but well placed for access to Perth (22 miles) and Dundee (17 miles). There are excellent local amenities in Alyth which has a supermarket, butcher, ironmonger, cafés and hotels including The Lands of Loyal country house hotel which is close by. Alyth’s active community enjoys the town’s tennis courts, bowling green, golf courses, a primary school, town hall and bike park. Blairgowrie (6 miles) has professional services, secondary schooling, a cottage hospital, a choice of supermarkets and a variety of shops and restaurants.
Perth and Dundee offer a more comprehensive range of shops, transport links, professional services, cultural opportunities and leisure facilities. In addition to schooling in Blairgowrie, The White House is well placed for access to some of Scotland’s best private schooling; Craigclowan, Glenalmond, Strathallan, Kilgraston and The High School of Dundee are all within 30 miles. There are railway stations at Perth and Dundee. Dundee Airport has direct services to London, while Edinburgh Airport (62 miles) has a wide range of domestic and international flights.
The location is ideal for those who enjoy the outdoors. There are three golf courses at Blairgowrie (including a championship course) and a further three courses at Alyth. The Perthshire Hills and the Angus Glens are easily accessible and popular with hillwalkers; there is skiing at Glenshee (about 17 miles) and salmon fishing on the rivers Tay, Isla and Ericht.
Square Footage: 2,916 sq ft

OnTheMarket may have applied supplementary data to this property listing, including:
Broadband availability and predicted speed: obtained from Ofcom on January 6, 2022
Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:
Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s
The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength: obtained from Ofcom on January 6, 2022
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
Energy Performance data and Internal floor area: obtained on May 16, 2023 from The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 or the Home Report if in relation to a residential property in Scotland.
