There is a lovely tea shop, village post office and nearby there is the train station and popular Chilham farm shop selling groceries, food items and plants. There are two local public houses, one serving restuarant meals. Also within walking distance is a garden centre and cafe.
There are many lovely walks in the area towards the North Downs and local footpaths.
Canterbury City with its excellent shopping
centre, cultural interests, and well regarded schools is a short drive.
Chilham Station is on the Ashford-Canterbury rail route connecting to the coast. It offers a direct train service to London as well as easy access to the high-speed train from Ashford Station, where there are frequent services to London St Pancras in around 37 minutes as well as Eurostar services to the Continent.
The M2 and M20 are a short drive, providing fast access to the coast or to London, Gatwick and Heathrow airports. The Channel Tunnel terminal at Cheriton and Port of Dover are both within easy access and offer frequent services to the Continent.
