  • Town/City
Number seven, Cambridge Terrace is a classic Georgian townhouse built in the 1820s in Bath stone. At the front, each of the 10 homes in the terrace has ironwork railings and a gate enclosing a paved courtyard. The front door opens on to the ground floor, where wooden floorboards flow into the living room. Two large windows fill the room with light and offer far-reaching views across the city and to the hills beyond. There's an iron fireplace with a gas fire, a marble mantle and surround, which is framed either side by storage built into the alcoves. There's plenty of period detailing in this property - including deep skirting boards, coving and cornicing, picture rails and stair bannisters.

Stairs down lead to the lower ground floor and an original flagstone floor. The kitchen/dining room has plenty of storage, with recess cupboards either side of a stone fireplace; units are cream-coloured with wooden worktops. There's a gas Rangemaster stove and hob, a ceramic butler's sink and space for a large dining table. Access to the garden is via a glazed rear door. There's more storage elsewhere on this floor - under the stairs and through to the tanked vaults, which also house the utility and a study area that is currently set up for working from home. The main family bathroom is on this floor and features both a shower and roll-top bath.

On the first floor, there are two bedrooms: the principal bedroom has exceptional views across Bath. It has useful and attractive built-in cupboards and a fireplace, as does the other bedroom on this floor.
The loft can be reached via an iron spiral staircase: it's used as an additional bedroom and has a vaulted wooden ceiling and Velux-style windows, plus a separate WC with tongue and groove wall detailing.
Please note: Planning permission has been applied to replace the existing roof structure, to raise the height and insert new dormers windows and a roof light, and to replace the spiral staircase with a traditional one.

Gardens and Grounds

At the front, a courtyard is enclosed by ironwork railings and a gate. There's a skylight to the vaults below and the remaining space is paved, with room for seating and plant pots. The rear garden has a dining terrace adjacent to the house with paved stepping stones leading across the lawn to steps down to a small courtyard and a wooden studio with sedum roof. It's a quiet and secluded space - ideal for working from home or as a hobbies studio. The garden has some mature planting with shrubs and trees such as an Ornamental Cherry, Apple and Acer. The garage is across the road from the house, at the beginning of Cambridge Terrace. It has a new timber roof and 'up and over' garage door. There is parking in front for a small car.

Cambridge Terrace is a few minutes' walk up Widcombe Hill; it's a quiet no-through terrace with far-reaching views. Widcombe is a popular city location, know for its thriving community: it has a social club, pubs, cafés, pharmacy, supermarket, shops, restaurants and a garden centre. Bath Spa station is a short walk downhill and there's a regular bus service from the high street. Well-regarded schools are easily reached, including Widcombe, Moorlands, St John's infant and junior schools, as well as a range of highly regarded secondary schools. Bath has excellent cultural and leisure amenities including many fine restaurants and specialist shops, museums, art galleries and theatres as well as its premiership rugby ground and its famous Thermae Spa. There's a high-speed train services from Bath Spa Railway Station to London Paddington (approximately 90 minutes) and Bristol Temple Meads (15 mins).

    Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
    Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
    Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s

The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2

Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:

Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services

Energy Performance data and Internal floor area
