“Why do I like new House Lane? I love the fact it is facing a park, and I don't have anyone overlooking me at the back. I can see St Mary’s Church which is lovely. The garden is south facing, I have lived in two properties that are this house number and they have been great homes, so that felt right too. There are two parking spots at the front and the M2, M25, A2 are all a stone's throw away. The station is walkable and Ebbsfleet is a 20-minute service to St Pancras.

I purchased the property in 2019. The property needed major updating and I saw this as a personal challenge. When I entered the property, it had a wonderful feel to it. I found out that the property had been given to the old lady who had passed away as a wedding present at 18 years of age, her husband was killed in the war and from age 20 she had lived there for 79 years alone. I felt really happy that I was going to look after her home. I found that Jeskins Park and Shorne Country Park were on the doorstep, as well as Woodlands Park which is walking distance. I can also walk to Morrisons, or Lidl, and Sainsburys superstore and Asda superstore a short drive away.

The house has had a complete rewire, gas was brought to the property, and I put in a combi boiler and central heating. A new kitchen diner was created from 2 rooms and an outside pantry. A new feature fireplace and log burner put in alongside a new Kitchen with built in Ovens, there are two, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, wine fridge. Lights to the island base and it seats four. The outside loo is now inside! with new high-level suite. There are bi-fold doors to the kitchen which mark the boundary of the property. These have been coated with a heat and sun reflecting coating as it is south facing and to protect the Amtico flooring which runs from the front door, through the kitchen and into the toilet and lean too. To the front room there is a new feature fireplace and electric fire. The hall has a new front door, and Nest heating control.

A new bathroom was created on the first floor with a pocket door to maximise space with new slipper bath, double shower and sink and toilet, and an ensuite created to bedroom two as it is next door to the bathroom. This has a double shower, sink and toilet. The loft hatch was moved from the bathroom to the hall and new stairs and boarding created for the loft. This is also where the boiler is. Fitted wardrobes and a new cast iron fireplace are in the first bedroom. Second bedroom has had the fireplace removed. The upstairs hall window was replaced and frosted as this looks over the neighbour's property. The house had new carpet fitted throughout in grey in 2021.

The house has CCTV to the front side and back garden and a Nest doorbell and Alarm covering the house and garden pod. The boiler is operated through the Nest controls in the hall and on the App on your phone. The garden was landscaped, a granite tile patio laid, new shed with its own power supply and fuse board. Lighting has been added to the garden throughout the shrubs, an aluminium gazebo with solar powered light and new fences for both sides of the garden, down the side path, new gates to the front and fencing to the front on both sides. There is an office pod called a SkyPod in the garden with its own power and internet supply. The doors have been coated with a mirror finish film that deflects the sun and enhances the size of the garden. Three people work in there very comfortably.

I have found the neighbours to be delightful. We have used the Cyclopark, local parks and joined a local business group called BNI and found everyone to be very kind and helpful. We have the ellenor hospice on our doorstep too, this is where my father spent his last few days, and it has a place in my heart.

I am most proud of what I have achieved in the house and how it has taken shape. I always knew it would make an amazing starter home one day and I hope I have given that step up for the next person coming in.”

Location
This property is situated in the vicinity of Woodland Park area and the popular road of New House Lane. There is a public walkway that links you to the Perry Street parade of shops and facilities with Tesco Extra, Co-Op, dentists, Gingers bakery, Pizza Hut, laundrette, hairdressers, doctors’ surgery, chemists, petrol station with Costa and Subway facilities, public houses and several take away eateries including KFC and Northfleet Fish Bar for you to choose from.
