Location

Clifton Hill and Montpelier were developed from the 1820s to the 1860s and were considered at the time to be the most salubrious part of the town. Today they are an outstanding area of conservation with fine examples of Regency and Victorian architecture. The Clifton Hill Conservation Area was originally designated in 1973, it was extended in 1977 and now covers 75 acres. This area was renamed by Brighton & Hove Council in 2005 and is now known as the Montpelier and Clifton Hill Conservation Area.

This home is a coveted address in the area, it has Brighton Mainline Train Station (0.2 miles), the beach and the city on its doorstep but has a peaceful feel.

Nearby, Seven Dials has an array of independent boutiques, shops and cafes including Ricci's Deli with their delicious freshly made sandwiches and baguettes, T@The Dials, The Flour Pot Bakery, and the fabulous Hellenic Greek Bakery, along with fabulous gastro pubs, including the Good Companions, The Cow and The Crescent.

St. Ann's Well Gardens in around the corner, where there is a scented garden and a wealth of wildlife along with a café, bowling green and tennis court. And of course, the famous Brighton seafront, pier and promenade is a short walk away!

Going in the opposite direction, the North Laine is best known for its bohemian vibe, with a mainly pedestrian only shopping area. Full of restaurants, cafes, vintage stores, art exhibitions, jewellery stands, pubs and entertainment venues such as the Komedia with its cinema and stand up comedy nights. Every Saturday, Upper Gardner Street is closed to traffic for an on street market, and amongst the houses of this street are several antiques dealers, great if you love a snoop around!

Here you are close to the Prince Regents 19th Century Royal Pavilion, drawing sightseers in with its beautiful ornate, Indian style domes and minarets. Brighton Museum & Art Gallery, and music fans can head to gigs at the Brighton Dome or shows at The Theatre Royal.

Regular bus services run through the city and along the coast, as well as easy road access to the A23/A27, with links to the motorway and Gatwick Airport.
