The woodland lies down Colwell Lane in East Sussex (the county border being the northern boundary of the woodland), on the east side of Haywards Heath (1.5 miles) and west of Scaynes Hill (1.7 miles), just off the A272.
DESCRIPTION
A particularly fine parcel of traditional old broadleaf woodland notable for the many mature oaks with an understorey of largely hornbeam and silver birch and the odd holly. It borders Colwell Lane on its eastern side with a good access point near the middle – the southern boundary is not defined on the ground. Although there are no official footpaths, there are a number of tracks through the woodland. The whole extends to 3.31 acres (1.34 ha).

From Scaynes Hill, take the A272 towards Haywards Heath passed the various houses and the entrance to Colwell Lane will be seen on the left immediately after some high pillared brick garden walling.
