*HISTORY*
Over its history, Park House has taken on different roles, from the Howard family home to a secret safe house Churchill apparently frequented during the second world war. In the 1950's, it was turned into a rehabilitation centre for the wounded service men of WWII. From 1968, the house was bought by the Holy Ghost teaching order of nuns, where it remained until it was sold as a residential home in 1985. Unlike many houses of its time, Park House has retained an air of dignity and magnificence, having retained many of its original features.
*LOCATION*
Located in the central-northern part of Bedfordshire, Bedford has been a settlement since early medieval times, as proven by historical sources documenting the reigns of various Saxon kings. Bedford is built on the River Great Ouse, which has, throughout the centuries, been an important source of sustenance for the developing local population.
Bedford town centre includes a mix of both chains and independent shops mostly dotted around the central square mile of the town. There are shops of every sort, serving the entire community of Bedford. In the center of the town there is also the 'Castle Quarter' which describes itself as "a square mile of independent shops." Since 2004, however, the town has begun offering a number of other markets including the Bedford Gourmet Market, Farmers Market, Home and Garden Market and Arts and Crafts Fair.
Bedford School (boys), Bedford Modern School (co-educational) and Bedford Girls' School all provide outstanding education for 7-18 year olds. Pilgrims', St Andrew's and Polham are excellent feeder schools.
Major roads serving Bedford include the A421, A509, A6 and A4280 and the nearest motorway is the M1 junction 13, which is just under 15 miles away. Bedford is served by
Two train stations located less than a mile apart, the main one being Bedford Station and the other Bedford St Johns. Bedford Station features trains that go to Brighton via London St Pancras.

Broadband availability and predicted speed: obtained from Ofcom on October 13, 2023
Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:
Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s
The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength: obtained from Ofcom on October 13, 2023
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
Energy Performance data and Internal floor area: obtained on March 30, 2011 from The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 or the Home Report if in relation to a residential property in Scotland.
