Location:
Saunton is a small village lying 2 miles west of Braunton and is known for its long stretch of surfing sandy beach (believed to be approximately 3 miles long), perfect for wind surfing, surfing, paddle boarding, bodyboarding, swimming etc and dogs are allowed on the beach all year around. The beach connects to the UNESCO Reserve sight of Braunton Burrows as well as Crow Point to the far end and it has been used as a background for many music videos and films. Saunton Golf Course with it’s two championship links courses is also in Saunton and both the Golf Club and Saunton Sands Hotel, along with the Beachside Café and Grills offer places to eat. Saunton also has a Landeez all terrain wheelchair which enables those with disabilities to be able to enjoy the beach as well. At the entrance to the Car Park (on the B3231) is a bus stop which has buses running to Croyde and Georgeham in one direction and to Braunton, Barnstaple and beyond in the other. From the M5 take Junction 27 continue on the A361 until reaching Barnstaple, at the roundabout take the first exit continue across the next roundabout. At the third roundabout take the 2nd exit continue to the traffic lights. Continue along the bridge at the next set of traffic lights turn left and follow the signs to Braunton.

Entering Braunton from Barnstaple, at the centre of the village turn left signposted to Croyde and Saunton. Continue along this road into Saunton and after passing the Saunton Sands Hotel, Ocean Point will be found on the left hand side approached through secure coded gated entry behind an attractive stone wall.
