Property description & features
- Tenure: Freehold
- Conifer woodland
- Vehicle access
Signal Wood is a wonderfully light and spacious woodland overseen by towering Corsican pine.
An excellent vehicle track from the entrance leads you down into the woodland to a large open grass area with a fire pit, making it ideal for camping and woodland activities.
Chestnut and birch are dotted throughout the woodland giving some good contrast alongside the pine. There is also good scope to extract some financial return by felling some of the pine and replanting with more native species. Underfoot, bracken and grasses cover the floor and the easily accessible tracks that cross the wood.
Set within Limekiln and Park Woods, a large woodland area in the High Weald AONB, the woodland is a peaceful and private space and also a haven for wildlife. Deer are a common visitor to the woods and the wider area.
Signal Wood is in a very desirable location being only a short drive from the popular town of Crowborough and also Tunbridge Wells. Bowles Outdoor Centre is nearby for those with a young family and The Boars Head pub is within easy walking distance from the wood.
The district is Wealden and the County Council is East Sussex.
Boundaries: The boundaries are open on all sides and staked with purple markings along the border with the neighbouring woodland. All other boundaries follow the main woodland track.
Access: There is excellent vehicle access via a byway from the main entrance via two locked gates. Parking is possible inside the woodland.
Viewing: You are welcome to visit this wood by yourself, but please download the details showing the location of the woodland and ensure that you have a copy of these sales details with you. Many of our woodlands do not have mobile phone reception or internet access so we recommend either printing the details or downloading them to your phone or tablet.
