From the main entrance, a wide ride leads to the highest point surrounded by towering oak and beech. This elevated position provides sweeping views to the east and south, creating an idyllic setting for camping and woodland pursuits.
There are good access tracks around the upper levels while woodland paths meander through the interesting terrain, inviting exploration. A spacious clearing cuts through the heart of the woodland leading to the west, allowing in lots of light and encouraging a variety of ground fauna and natural regeneration.
Aside from the impressive oak and beech, a wide mixture of tree species can be found, including spruce, western red cedar, Corsican pine, chestnut, hazel, hornbeam, ash birch, hawthorn and holly.
Descending to the south, the woodland terrain steepens in places, merging with a track following the perimeter. This area boasts an extensive network of picturesque walks through neighbouring woodlands, frequented by muntjac and roe deer.
Locally, The Plough Pub, one of the oldest pubs in the area, sits at the woodland's most westerly point. Within walking distance, the market town of Princes Risborough offers an array of amenities, including shops, restaurants, and a railway station. Conveniently located near the M40, Longdown Wood provides easy access to London, a mere hour's drive away.

Boundaries: To the north, the boundary follows Longdown Hill and is open, the southern border follows the public footpath. Fencing is in place in the northeast corner adjoining open fields, further south the boundary is unmarked and joins neighbouring woodland and is marked with a post marked with white paint at its most southerly point.
Access: Vehicle access is possible via a private gate and wide track. Parking is possible within the woodland. There is also a right of way along the track on the southern border that leads from the gate at The Plough Public House.
