The inside space - it doesn’t feel cramped, with the two big rooms, although the layout is unusual. That could be changed, however, the windows/ French doors at either end, and in the main bedroom, meant that there was always plenty of light even though it was a ground floor flat.

The solidity of the Victorian building (walls, ceilings), meant that most noise from neighbours was muffled at worst and largely inaudible.

When we bought it, we liked the ‘feel’, for all the things mentioned above, but something beyond - a place that felt tranquil (for London) and positive - its liveability."
