Property description & features

  • Tenure: Freehold
  • The Beach 3/4 of a mile Chichester 8 miles London 86 miles
  • Reception Hall Sitting Room Dining Room Kitchen/Breakfast Room 3 Bedrooms 2 Bathrooms (1 Ground Floor)
  • Garage Delightful Gardens Listed Grade II
A delightful detached period cottage, Listed Grade II, and in need of some updating. Although difficult to date, we believe the house to be Georgian and was almost certainly two cottages, evidenced by mixed Flemish bond and Sussex bond brickwork.

The house is nestled behind high brick walls, providing a high degree of privacy with parking and garage at the front and south facing garden to the rear. There are lovely period features throughout which can be enhanced with sensitive renovation.

The cottage is close to the village centre, and is within walking distance of both east and west beaches. The village of Selsey offers an excellent range of local amenities and restaurants with a number of independent food shops including a good butchers, bakery and just outside the village there is an Asda supermarket. There are a number of local public houses and restaurants and coffee shops. Selsey can be found within approximately 8 miles of the blue flag beaches of West Wittering as well as the National Trust Reserve at East Head. The cathedral city of Chichester lies some 9 miles to the north and provides a comprehensive range of shops, bars and restaurants. There is a mainline station in Chichester providing a regular service to London Victoria in about 1 hour 40 minutes and a slightly faster service to London Waterloo from Havant.

Other recreational activities in the area are centered around the Goodwood Estate which has its own private health club, golf course and hosts the annual Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival and the 3 day Members Meeting event at its historic motor circuit.

Broadband availability and predicted speed: obtained from Ofcom on February 17, 2022

Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:

    Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
    Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
    Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s

The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
