Ranfurly Castle was a small keep, with a courtyard. Two storeys of the keep remain, although there were previously at least three storeys and three cellars of the buildings once in the courtyard. The walls of the ground floor had arrowslits. The main entrance was at first floor level. The east wing, which was added about 200 years after initial construction, is the most modern part of the building. A south wing providing three vaults for cattle and stores on the ground floor and probably three rooms for the family above were also added, although the date is unknown. The keep was 6.0 metres (19.7 ft) square, and it survives to around 7.0 metres (23.0 ft). The walls are constructed of rough random rubble, although there are quoins of dressed stone. In the east wall there is a doorway, and a slit window with a wide internal splay. It is likely that there were adjustments to the initial building at the time of the additions. Superb Development opportunity subject to consents - ALL INVESTIGATIONS MUST BE MADE BY THE BUYER TO SATISY THEMSELVES as to the suitability for development. Its amenities are all in easy walking distance, including a Co-operative food store, bank, butcher and petrol station, together with a variety of charming country pubs and desirable eateries throughout the area. The village is well known for leather production, with the highly successful Bridge of Weir Leather achieving numerous awards including The Queen’s Award for International Business. Paisley, Linwood and Johnstone offer a more extensive choice of retail facilities nearby, while Renfrew is home to the large shopping complex Soar Intu Braehead, on the banks of the River Clyde, and the diverse delights of Glasgow city centre are only 18 miles away. Once home to five courses, Bridge of Weir has a rich golfing heritage, with Ranfurly Castle Golf Club and Old Course Ranfurly Golf Club still attracting members from far and wide. A National Cycle route also runs through the village and Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park is nearby, perfect for all kinds of outdoor activities.

OnTheMarket may have applied supplementary data to this property listing, including:
Broadband availability and predicted speed
Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:
Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s
The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
