Description
Built in 1856 Chestnut House is a character packed and substantial detached farmhouse, which comes with a completely detached self-contained cottage, perched overlooking the valley and the coast in the popular village of Kewstoke. Over the years the property has had an array of improvement and renovation works which have really taken the farmhouse to the next level. Indeed it has all of the benefits yet none of the downsides one might associate with a period house. Accommodation in the main farmhouse is packed with character features but we believe includes all the ‘bells and whistles’ that a modern family would expect.
Arranged over three floors it briefly comprises, on the ground floor; lounge, dining room, kitchen/family room, garden room and downstairs WC. On the first floor you find four good sized bedrooms and large family bathroom plus the rear door to the garden as the farmhouse is built up the hill. A further stairwell ascends directly into the luxuriously appointed master suite set in the roof with vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and beautiful en suite bathroom. Internally as mentioned there are a wealth of character features, giving the accommodation a fantastic period feel; including exposed beams, wood burning stoves, bread oven, flagstone flooring, exposed brick and stone walling and large ‘Aga’ in the kitchen. As mentioned the frontage of the property benefits from wonderful far reaching views across the valley to the hills and coast and to the welsh hills beyond, they really are breath-taking. The quality of the outlook becomes even more apparent in the sizeable garden which has been sensitively landscaped creating practical, useable terraced areas, which culminate in a wonderful covered hot tub at the top where you can sit and sip wine whilst watching the sunset over the valley, surrounded by a peaceful woodland setting.
The gardens include an area of woodland which extends almost up to Worlebury Golf Course. The farmhouse has a driveway leading to gated off street parking for numerous vehicles leading to the self contained cottage. The accommodation internally comprises a kitchen/diner, lounge, two bedrooms and shower room, it has real possibility for dependant children or granny annex or home business. Chestnut House is a gem of a period property that really does need to be seen to fully appreciate all it entails, it inhabits a wonderful rural locale with great proximity to the coast, and local countryside, yet is convenient enough for transport routes including the M5 Motorway and the facilities that Weston super Mare offers. For those looking for space, character and location at a reasonable price, we honestly do not feel that there is much to compare.
We have noticed...
What a glorious outlook, set high and proud overlooking Kewstoke and to a certain extent Sand Bay. There is a wealth of character and those practical gardens, great for entertaining!

Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s

The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength: obtained from Ofcom on November 2, 2022
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
Energy Performance data and Internal floor area: obtained on April 19, 2022 from The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 or the Home Report if in relation to a residential property in Scotland.
