AGENT CODE - EM001

Plas Penhelig is an exquisite Edwardian residence which has been extensively and sympathetically refurbished to an exceptional and exacting standard retaining period features including decorative cornicing, ceiling rose and the turret.

The property exudes elegance, offering space and privacy combined with high quality, contemporary living; boasting immaculately presented reception rooms which are principally south facing and enjoy an abundance of natural light; along with 10 ensuite bedrooms with fabulous views; set in pretty landscaped gardens with paddocks and mature woodland.

Previously run as a successful boutique hotel until it was purchased as a private home some 20+ years ago, the house is believed to have been completed in 1908.

The property is extremely private and approached through double electric gates to a rhododendron lined driveway which meanders and rises to reveal the beautiful façade which overlooks the colourful, mature gardens and Dyfi Estuary, which is arguably one of the most picturesque estuaries in the country. There is a partially walled slate parking area to the front of the house with additional parking in the courtyard behind.

The front door opens to a panelled porch leading into the sophisticated drawing room with a Contura wood burning stove and a beautifully restored stained glass window from a previous home belonging to the family who built the house.

Accommodation flows effortlessly to the morning room with fine sea views from the turret, the study with a beautiful hand carved marble fireplace and the dining room / sitting room which has three sash windows.

The recently refurbished open plan kitchen is fully equipped with a range of bespoke cupboards and breakfast island. There is space for an additional dining area. The glass fronted panty is an impressive focal point. French doors open onto the terrace.

The handsome, principal staircase rises to the first floor with a magnificent stained glass window behind. It was commissioned when the house was built incorporating the Corbett family crest and Welsh scripture translating to “Praise the place in which you reside”.

Five bedroom suites flow from the spacious galleried landing, all with a spectacular outlook and ensuite bathroom with a freestanding oval bath. The principal bedroom suite commands excellent views with a fabulous dressing room, wardrobe and ensuite with a freestanding bath and shower.

To the second floor are five further bedroom suites including three suites with living areas. There is a spacious landing leading to a secondary staircase leading to separate outdoor access.

The property has cellarage including a wine cellar.

GARDENS AND GROUNDS

The enchanting gardens and grounds at Plas Penhelig compliment the house well and take full advantage of the delightful setting.

A beautiful Portico terrace with palm trees planted with scented geraniums below overlooks the coastline with virtually unrivalled panoramic views.

The mature formal gardens are bursting with colour and are enjoyable throughout the seasons. The lawns are raised and tiered with a series of slate pathways.

The splendid walled garden has a number of mature fruit trees and is boarded by traditional Victorian greenhouses.

The property benefits from a large double garage with electric doors and a workshop off with a kitchenette and gardeners WC.

The land extends to approximately 12.4 acres of paddocks and mature woodland.
