*A note from the sellers*
We have loved living in our apartment for the past 8 years, and we will be incredibly sad to leave. The open-plan living, functional space, stylish open brick work, and large windows are some things we’ll definitely miss. But as our family grows, the time has come for us to move on.
As a couple, our apartment has been a great space for us to socialise with friends while enjoying town living and making the most of all of the restaurants and pubs Newbury has to offer - it’s only a 7-minute walk to the town centre through Victoria Park. Within a 30-second walk, you’ll find B&M (the store that sells just about everything), Greggs, Pizza Hut, and Majestic Wine.
For us, we feel our flat is in one of the best positions at Merchants Court. Being on the end of the building, there are no flats directly opposite looking in. We’re in the second block, which is set back from the main road. And being on the ground floor and first door on the left, it’s easy to get in and out without worrying about stairs or long corridors. We even love having our parking space right outside our window - so handy for quickly passing shopping and other items into the apartment.
We’ve enjoyed the outside space over the years and had picnics and drinks with friends on the lawn out the front. While it is a communal garden, it’s still great to have some outside space you can sit in and enjoy the summer’s evenings.
Hopefully you can tell the love we have for our apartment, and as we move to the next stage of our lives with our children, we hope it finds someone who can enjoy the next 8 years (or more) here at Merchants Court as much as we have.

OnTheMarket may have applied supplementary data to this property listing, including:
Broadband availability and predicted speed: obtained from Ofcom on January 7, 2022
Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:
Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s
The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength: obtained from Ofcom on January 7, 2022
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
Energy Performance data and Internal floor area
