For us, it has been an excellent multi-generational home, where people can spread out and enjoy their privacy or gather and spend time together.”

Entered from the front, the property benefits from a very large central reception hall. This fans off in all directions, leading to all the main accommodation. “To the left, at the front, there is a small room which would originally have been designed to be a study,” he observes. “It would certainly be a great place for anyone who had to be able to work from home but could also be a children’s playroom or a snug. For us, it has been perfect as a prayer room for my parents-in-law who live with us.” A downstairs cloakroom can also be accessed from the hall.

SUMMER DAYS
To the other side of the front door, double doors open into the capacious sitting room. This has a bay window to the front that brings the natural light flooding in. The smallest bedroom could make a superb study or child’s room. “The arrangement here has been ideal for us,” the owner adds. Not relocating, he admits he and his family will be sad to leave their much-loved Loughton home. “We have appreciated the space and the setting,” he says. “Every day we like to walk around the Teardrop Lakes in Loughton Valley Park and then return to this wonderful house afterwards.”
