Location - Broughton Astley is a quaint village nestled in the heart of Leicestershire, shrouded in charming rural tranquillity and historical allure. The streets are lined with both timeless stone cottages and modern homes, allowing a seamless fusion of old and new. The centrepiece of the village is St Mary's Church, standing as a serene testament to the village's rich heritage, while the fields and meadows surrounding offer stunning views that invite peaceful reflection. With multiple local shops, friendly village pubs and a close-knit community, Broughton Astley is an incredibly sought-after area suitable for both families and working professionals.
The village also boasts several recreational facilities, including a community centre that hosts various activities and events through the year. The local sports centre offers opportunities for fitness and leisure, including multiple courts and space for an array of sports. Alongside the library and health centre, Broughton Astley also provides a range of schools and playgrounds, the area ensures that essential services are readily available to all residents.
With close proximity to both Coventry and Leicester, the M1 and the M69, Broughton Astley is an ideal location to commute from. Nearby railway stations also offer transport to Birmingham and London, perfect for longer distance commutes.
Seller's Story - We have loved living at Devitt Way, we already lived in Broughton Astley before buying this home and liked the community feel of the village. This includes the amenities it has and how it has developed in the time we have lived there. When we saw the listing we fell in love with the master bedroom and the ability to have multiple guest bedrooms without having to compromise on space. It then became the perfect home to allow us both to work from home without having to get in each other's hair!
Trying to decide our favourite room in the property is extremely challenging. We renovated the garden when we bought the property and have really enjoyed spending time with family and friends in it, even in the autumn or winter months, being able to sit in the conservatory and look out onto the garden has been lovely. We also really like the downstairs backroom and bedroom. It is such a versatile space that we have used as an office/game room but has been previously used as a playroom
ursery.
We have had a lot of good times in our home and made a lot of memories, we would love another family to be able to do so. A couple of key moments might include a 'Covid' Christmas celebrating just the two of us, a surprise engagement party after coming home from getting engaged at Bradgate Park and more recently, 30th Birthday celebrations.
It is hard to pinpoint what aspect we enjoyed the most. The neighbours are very kind and the neighbourhood feels like its own community. There are some lovely walks to Leire or Dunton Basset if you are thinking of a longer walk to a pub in the summer. The ease of being able to have 2 supermarkets, multiple smaller shops, post office, gym and a lot of pubs has been fantastic. We will really miss the area and how cosy the house can feel in the winter months. You are afforded enough privacy without feeling like you are disconnected.
We renovated the bathrooms upon moving in and during this time we installed a new boiler system. Alongside this, the solar panels mean bills can be kept very low considering the size of the house. We also sell energy back to the grid.
