Description

Situated in a cul de sac location in the popular historic town of Axbridge and finished beautifully, this unusually spacious property is a superb family home! With lashings of curb appeal, the smart frontage offers a spacious driveway and access to the integral garage via an electric roller door. We enter the the home directly into the vast open plan living space which offers instant views directly through to the garden. To the right is a home study with a window to the front. and opposite is the spacious kitchen with integrated cooker, hob and dish washer and space for a large free standing fridge freezer. From here we can also access the garage with an external door to the garden and a utility space to the rear with an additional sink. The large living room is open plan with a dining area and enjoys two double doors which lead directly to the patio and garden. There is also access to a large cloakroom WC.

Upstairs we find three spacious bedrooms, thanks to a vast loft conversion. The primary bedroom overlooks the rear and has a lovely ensuite with walk in shower. There are two further double bedrooms, one with a large storage cupboard and there is still a loft space to use for further storage. In addition there is a family bathroom on this floor with shower over bath.

The garden is a great size and is mainly laid to lawn with a patio near the house and a garden shed to the back, perfect for family and fully enclosed yet with access to the front via the garage.

Situation

Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the east side of the A38 and overlooked by Wavering Down and Crooks Peak is the ever popular medieval town of Axbridge () . This town is packed with ‘old world’ charm and its medieval beginnings are still evident in some of its oldest buildings. An important wool-producer in the Middle Ages, the town has always been at the centre of things, indeed it was a river port in earlier times. This was reflected in its early royal charters allowing it to hold markets, fairs and become a royal borough. It even had its own mint, with coins showing the town's symbol: the Lamb and Flag. There is far less through traffic nowadays, but the layout of the town has changed little over the centuries, a medieval town expanding on a fortified Saxon burgh. Axbridge is well served for local facilities include post office, general stores, primary () and middle () schools (Fairlands being in Cheddar) and a number of restaurants. Further facilities are available in the nearby villages of Winscombe and Cheddar and as mentioned, primary and nursery schools are available at Weare and Axbridge with older children attending Kings of Wessex School also in Cheddar (). The town has good access to the City of Bristol and the seaside town of Weston-super-Mare and there is access to the motorway network at Clevedon (junction 20), St. Georges (junction 21) and Edithmead (junction 22). There is an international airport at Lulsgate and access to a mainline railway station at Yatton and Highbridge.

Directions

On the A38 travelling south, follow the signs to Axbridge. Turn left onto the A371, and proceed down the Axbridge by-pass, then turn left onto West Street and then right onto Houlgate Way. Follow the road round and turn right into Crossmoor Road. Number 8 is on the right towards the start of the cul de sac with a Debbie Fortune For Sale board to the front.
