Property description & features

  • Tenure: Freehold
  • A wonderful and spacious detached seaside home
  • Double garage and driveway
  • Delightful sea views to the rear
  • Triple aspect open plan sitting and family area
  • Beautifull walled garden with elevated terrace
  • A fantastic opportunity for a large or growing family
This extended 1970s six bedroom family home is in a quiet cul-de-sac only a minute's walk from the clifftops at Dumpton Gap and nestling in 0.2428 of an acre of grounds. It has a gently sloping front lawn bordering a driveway leading to the integral double garage and additional off street parking. The hallway has open tread stairs to the first floor, an understairs cupboard, access to the cloakroom and attractive floor tiling that flows through to the kitchen/breakfast room and utility room.

The stunning double aspect sitting area and family area are divided by arches flanking a central pillar incorporating a double-sided fireplace with a ragstone surround and a multi-fuel burner as well as patio doors to the conservatory. There is a study and a dining room with its wood flooring and hatch to the kitchen/breakfast, which includes a peninsular breakfast bar and units housing built in and stand-alone appliance. The adjacent utility room has access to the garage and an external covered walkway.

A large window on the half landing provides plenty of natural light while the first floor landing has access to six bedrooms with built in wardrobes as well as a family bathroom, shower room and separate toilet. The main bedroom includes a dressing area, French doors to a balcony and a wide archway to the bedroom area and en suite bathroom. In addition, there is a very large dual aspect double bedroom currently in use as a spacious office.

The rear terrace spans almost the entire width of the house and it is bordered by a rockery that extends down to the lower garden that has a flat lawn surrounded by fencing, shrub borders with other charming rockery and seating areas. There is also a raised patio and flower borders, a greenhouse and garden shed.

What the Owner says:
This has been our home for 32 years and it has been a wonderful place to bring up our family but it is time to downsize. Originally it was the garden and the nearness to the sea that attracted us. Also it is so quiet and we are only a stone's throw from the clifftop, Dumpton Gap beach and the George VI Memorial Park.

We are not far from Broadstairs town centre with its wide range of individual shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants, cinema and theatre as well as the North Foreland golf club and bowls, tennis, rugby and cricket clubs. There are also good local primary and grammar schools with some rated Outstanding by Ofsted as well as excellent private schools in the vicinity. There are also nearby train stations with the fast train from Ramsgate getting to London in about an hour and a quarter.

Broadband availability and predicted speed: obtained from Ofcom on February 18, 2022

Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:

    Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
    Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
    Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s

The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2

Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength: obtained from Ofcom on February 18, 2022

Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:

Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
