The cropping for this growing season (2024) has been cereal crops and potatoes, with the land classified by the James Hutton institute as being Grade 2 meaning it is suitable for a wide variety of crops. Winter Oilseed Rape has been sown in fields 2 West Bank and 8 East Bank for the 2025 harvest.

The land is south facing and gently sloping land ranges from approximately 54 metres to 65 metres above sea level at its highest point. It is predominantly made up of mineral podzols that are naturally free draining. The fields are of a good practical size with good access and good internal access tracks.
