It has been eleven years now since the owners of the property on Newton Road moved into the modern house and transformed it into an exceptional family and entertaining home. Drawn to the property for its great potential, they knew they could extend it to suit their own requirements, while also creating stylish and flexible spaces, suitable for children of varying ages. “We wanted a property that sat on a good-sized plot and had the scope to become a substantial home for our growing family,” one of them recalls. “This house had a really generous garden, with ample space to extend upstairs and down, and a large driveway to the front, with room to park up to eight cars. Five years ago, we remodelled and enlarged it and since then it has been an outstanding place to live.”

Rooms

AMAZING SPACE
Set behind electric gates and with a driveway, blocked paved by the owners, the property is now entered via a porchway. “To the left is the drawing room, which is the place the adults tend to retreat to in the evening, once the children have gone to bed,” he explains. “But this could have all sorts of different uses.” To the right of the hall is another reception room, which is currently arranged as an inner entrance hall, with cupboards for shoes, coats and bags. This room leads through to a ground-floor study, which could also be a bedroom or small sitting room; another door gives on to the magnificent kitchen breakfast room. “We extended here to create this wonderful space, with bi-folding doors on two sides that can be pulled right back on to an outside terrace and entertaining area, with a barbecue and space for people to sit outside in the sunshine. We have had big parties with up to 80 people.”

IMPRESSIVE KITCHEN
The chic kitchen features a large central island, with breakfast bar which are all high quality quartz and flows of the end of the worktop down to the floor, ample storage and integrated Neff appliances along with an integrated full height fridge and separate full height freezer along with integrated dishwasher and wine cooler. There is plenty of room for comfortable seating, where adults can watch television, listen to music from speakers built into the ceiling or keep an eye on the younger children as they play in the garden. “The kitchen also flows through into the dining room, where we have an eight-seat table, and more doors on to the garden.”

EASY LIVING
The dining room gives on to yet another sitting room. This is currently used as a children’s playroom but, with an en suite shower room, could also become an additional bedroom if required. “The shower room has an outside door too, which has been ideal for us,” he observes. “We have a hot tub in a wooden structure at the end of the garden and can come straight in to have a hot shower without having to walk through the house.”

BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS
Six bedrooms can be found on the first floor of the house. The splendid master bedroom has a walk-through dressing area and a sumptuous en suite bathroom, with free-standing bath and walk-in shower that incorporates a steam room and an in-built sound system. Another large bedroom has an en suite shower room and the four remaining bedrooms share the family bathroom. “This house is well laid out for a big family and has also been ideal over the past few months when some of us have been working from home,” he adds.

EXCELLENT CONDITION
The location of the property on Newton Road has also been perfect for the family. Good local primary and secondary schools are within easy reach and buses for exceptional grammar and high schools pick pupils up and drop off close by. Supermarkets and shops are near, and it is a 15 minute walk to catch the train into London from Bletchley. “It only takes us 15 minutes to get into central Milton Keynes and Bicester Village is also within reach,” he continues. “We are all big golf fans and there are lots of places to play in this area; we also like motor sports and Silverstone is just 25 minutes away.” The surroundings are also well served with outdoor spaces and woodland walks suitable for children. “We are right beside Chepstow Park, which has four different play areas,” he adds. This is a very convenient place to be and this house has provided us with everything we have needed, including privacy, security and peace of mind.”
