Quainton is a picturesque village located in the Aylesbury Vale district of Buckinghamshire. It is situated approximately 7 miles west of the market town of Aylesbury and 6 miles east of the town of Bicester. One of the village's most notable landmarks is St. Mary's Church, a 13th-century building with a distinctive octagonal spire. The church is a Grade I listed building and is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in the county. Another important historical site in Quainton is the Quainton Windmill, a Grade II listed building that dates back to the early 19th century. The windmill is now a museum, open to the public, where visitors can learn about the history of milling and see the workings of the machinery.
