The village of Lyddington is highly attractive being set on the Rutland border and yet providing easy access to neighbouring conurbations. It receives good mention in Sir Nikolaus Pevsner’s Authoritative Guide to the Buildings of England who describes it as “a secluded village, a harmony of ironstone houses and cottages”. The surrounding area is rural with many scenic walks and bridleways. Lyddington has two public houses, which include The Marquess of Exeter and Old White Hart.
