6 bedroom detached house for sale
Key information
Property description & features
- Tenure: Freehold
In the Farmhouse there are well proportioned rooms with a sociable, open plan kitchen/diner looking across the garden. The comfortable sitting room with its exposed beams and fireplaces at either end has a set of internal doors so can be easily divided into two smaller, more intimate spaces if preferred. On the first floor there are four double bedrooms and two bathrooms plus two attic rooms on the second floor. An integral room above the garage provides excellent studio/ office space for those looking to work from home or who may have specific hobbies or other interests.
Townend Cottage adjoins the farmhouse and historically, has operated as a lucrative holiday let so will no doubt appeal to those looking to derive an income stream from their own home. There is a buoyant rental market in Ryedale and in recent years the cottage has let on an Assured Shorthold Tenancy (although it is currently not occupied). There are no planning restrictions limiting its use to letting and to that end, the cottage could be permanently occupied by relatives if needed, or indeed sold off.
Surrounding both properties are private lawned gardens and a sheltered patio area, all well screened by established hedging. There is gravelled parking and turning space for several vehicles, with Townend Cottage having it's own private parking immediately opposite the main entrance. The oversized garage on the eastern elevation is big enough to provide workshop space as well as providing secure parking for at least 3 cars.
A detached former farmhouse and adjoining cottage with gardens, garaging and plenty of parking
would suit multi-generational living or provide an income stream from holiday or longer term lets

Beadlam lies along the A170 approximately 2.5 miles to the east of Helmsley and a similar distance from Kirkbymoorside, both popular market towns with all the usual amenities on offer. The village is unusual in that it is directly joined onto another village, Nawton, and is commonly given the name Nawton Beadlam. The award winning Beadlam Grange Farm Shop, which is just outside the village, stocks everyday essentials and has an exceptional butchers counter, fruit and vegetables, bread, milk, home-made ready meals etc. There is a bus stop in the village providing connections to other market towns, to Scarborough on the east coast and to York and schools include Nawton Primary School as well as Ryedale Secondary School, awarded 'Outstanding' status at its 2023 Ofsted inspection.

OnTheMarket may have applied supplementary data to this property listing, including:
Broadband availability and predicted speed
Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:
Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s
The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
