Key information
Features and description
- Tenure: Freehold
- Secluded ancient woodland bordering open fields to the south
Etchden Wood (part) is perfect for those considering owning their own woodland retreat and at 2 acres is a very manageable size.
Tucked away in a quiet corner of the larger Etchden Wood, this parcel provides a serene and secluded atmosphere. The area is designated as ancient replanted woodland, dominated by hornbeam coppice with some oak and birch interspersed. Natural regeneration is underway, with young hazel scattered throughout, and in spring, the forest floor bursts with bluebells and wood anemones.
The woodland is easy to walk through, with well-spaced hornbeam creating open, inviting areas suitable for a variety of woodland activities. A wide ride along the northern edge not only provides excellent access but also adds to the woodland's spacious and open character.
Open fields to the south and a few seasonal ponds draw abundant wildlife, with deer frequenting the area.
The villages of Bethersden to the west and Great Chart to the east are both within walking distance, each with cozy pubs. Just a short drive away, Ashford offers a range of amenities and mainline train connections.
Ward is Weald Central and the county council is Kent.
Boundaries: The boundary is open to the north, west and east and borders the access track (north) and neighbouring woodland. South is fenced and borders open fields.
Access: There is an excellent hard track via a shared locked gate to access the woodland although a small overgrown section would require some clearance to allow vehicular access once more. Parking is possible within the woodland itself.
Viewing: You are welcome to visit this wood by yourself, but please download the details showing the location of the woodland and ensure that you have a copy of these sales details with you. Many of our woodlands do not have mobile phone reception or internet access so we recommend either printing the details or downloading them to your phone or tablet. Please take care when viewing as the great outdoors can contain unexpected hazards and woodlands are no exception.
Directions: Etchden Wood, Etchden Road, Bethersden, Ashford
