Beacons or lantern lights have been warning shipping of dangerous sandbanks in the Wash for many hundreds of years, and the first Lighthouse was built at Hunstanton in 1666. The current Lighthouse dates back to 1844.
The Pier itself was built in 1870, and is a vital stop-off point when walking along the beaches of Sunny Hunny. Set on the popular green on Hunstanton’s long and sweeping promenade and filled with fun, including Hunstanton’s only full sized bowling alley, Hunstanton has something for everyone and a beautiful place to set down roots and make a home.
