The Old School House is situated in the attractive Breckland village of Hilborough which has a pub. The attractive Georgian market town of Swaffham which has a good range of local amenities including shops, doctor’s surgery, school and a Waitrose is about 6 miles to the north. Downham Market is about 13 miles away and has a mainline railway station with regular services to Cambridge, with services going to London Kings Cross. The North Norfolk coast is also about 27 miles to the North with Brancaster about a 45 minute drive away.

Breckland is a charming, unspoilt area of East Anglia, which is sparsely populated with an abundance of wildlife. Thetford Forest sprawls across the region and there is some superb walking, cycling and birdwatching in the area with rare species such as the Stone Curlew and Grey Partridge. There are also lots of Hares and Deer in the Brecks.
