An opportunity has arisen to purchase approximately 1.5 miles of double bank fishing on the River Cree some 8 miles north of Newton Stewart. The beat runs from Bargrennan Bridge (A714) to the confluence of Minnoch Water, the main tribute of the River Cree.
The beat has not been regularly fished in the past and although records have not been kept four salmon and grilse were caught during the 2023 season. It is understood that the beat holds a good head of wild brown trout.
The River Cree is Category one river, benefiting from an established hatchery which in addition to stocking the river carries out improvements allowing salmon unrestricted access to spawning areas.
