Felinfach is a quiet, no-through side road that runs down the side of the Berrington Hill. Despite it's postal address being Ystradowen, many consider it to be a part of Upper Cwmtwrch. Nearby public footpaths lead to Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons National Park).

Cwmtwrch meaning 'Valley of the Boar' is located in the valley of Afon Twrch, just off the A4067 some 15 miles north of Swansea. It enjoys several pub/restaurants, a garden centre, and a golf-club.
