From the south facing balcony you can gaze down the coast from east to west below vast and ever-changing skies, and inside the generous room proportions and modern décor create the perfect balance between home comforts and a luxury lifestyle. While the beach is your playground, there is also access to spacious roof terrace with panoramic views from the sea to the South Downs, and being so well located for the city and the station it is ideal for commuters, sharers and investors alike.

Why you’ll like it:
At the time of building in 1935, there was much controversy aimed at the acclaimed architect Wells Coates who had been ‘cutting edge’ with his design of Embassy Court. While it may have been in-contrast to the neighbouring Regency squares, he created a beautifully elegant building, reminiscent of an ocean liner with its smooth, linear form, perfectly apt for a seafront property. By the end of the 20th Century, it had gone into decline, but by 2005 it had been brought back to its former glory by the newly established residents’ freehold company: Bluestorm – retaining its status as one of the coolest places to live in Britain.

There is a sensation of grandeur as you enter the lobby which feels more akin to a hotel, adorned with period architectural detailing to include curved glass windows and doors with walnut and chrome trim, and Terrazzo flooring leading the way to the lift. This awaits to whisk you up to the seventh floor where your door is clearly numbered.

From the moment you enter, you can see natural light streaming into the entrance hall from the south accentuating crisp white walls, adding to the sense of light and space throughout. First on the left is the glorious living and dining room providing the first glimpse of the breath-taking views. Windows run seamlessly along the south wall, framing never-ending sea and skyscapes, with a door leading out to the balcony. From here you can take in the coastline from Seaford in the east to Worthing in the west, and between the two; a plethora of city landmarks including the piers, the i360 and Brighton’s bandstand. This is a beautiful suntrap during the summer, yet being covered you can use it in less clement weather; wrapped up in a blanket with a warming drink.

Inside, there is ample space for formal dining, entertaining and relaxing in comfort, and while the neutral décor of wood flooring and white walls will suit all types of furnishing, there remains plenty of scope to put your own stamp on the place.

Bedroom one is accessed from the living room, so it shares the same sensational aspect to the south while also benefitting from a wall of built in wardrobes to maximise the floor space. Opposite is bedroom three, looking out over the communal walkway at the rear of the building, you also gain delightful views of leafy Clifton Hill. From this elevated position they take you right across to Truleigh Hill on the South Downs Way – all perfectly tranquil views should you wish to use this room as a home office, elevated above the sound of the city. Bedroom two is another generous double room with sea and sky views, being a joy to wake up to each day.

Lined in marbled tiles around a modern white bath suite, the bathroom is in fine fettle with a separate WC – ideal in any shared space. The kitchen has access to the rear walkway, and yet more views across the city, so the sink has been thoughtfully placed below the window. The high gloss white units give it a modern finish, alongside space for freestanding appliances, which may be available by separate negotiation.

These apartments are unique in this city, and not only for their streamlined aesthetic and cultural roots. They are also favourably located for the vibrant social centres of both Brighton and Hove, sitting within walking distance of Brighton Station and several popular schools. This is a rare opportunity to buy a slice of the city’s history, so it is sure to be coveted by many.

This bright, spacious flat is beautifully situated in a popular area with lots of local shops and the beach on your doorstep. The city centre shopping districts and parks are also within easy reach, and this home also offers easy access to Brighton Station which has direct and fast links to the airports and London.
