A Characterful One-Bedroom Apartment in a Converted Tea Factory – Brockley
Located on the second floor of a beautifully converted 1940s tea and coffee factory in the heart of Brockley, this charming one-bedroom apartment blends industrial heritage with contemporary style. The building was thoughtfully transformed by MTA Architects in 2008, retaining much of its original character.
Inside, the apartment features a spacious open-plan kitchen and living area, bathed in natural light thanks to large windows and a clever layout. Over the past four years, the current owner has carried out numerous tasteful refurbishments, enhancing the flat’s unique personality and warmth.
The double bedroom is set peacefully at the rear of the property, where a custom sliding door has been installed to maximise space and functionality. The modern bathroom is finished with sleek porcelain floor tiles and includes a walk-in shower for a touch of luxury.
Endwell Road offers unbeatable access to Brockley’s vibrant selection of cafes, restaurants, and bars—all just moments away. The property is exceptionally well-connected, with three stations within a 10-minute walk. Brockley Station, just around the corner, provides quick access to Canada Water (Jubilee Line), Shoreditch, and Whitechapel (Elizabeth Line), as well as direct trains to London Bridge in around 10 minutes.
Vendor Experience:
I’ve lived in the flat for almost 5 years now and used to rent in the other block a year before that. I’ve loved living in this area so much, it’s got a lovely family feel and some of my favourite things about the area are the many cute coffee shops and Brockley market. Being so close to the station has made my journey into central london for work extremely convenient and being a female I’ve always felt really safe to and from the station when walking by myself. I’m really going to miss living in this flat, the dual aspect windows give it a real light and airy feel and the open plan design feels almost like a New York style loft. One thing that was always important to me when buying a flat was potential noise issues with buying this kind of property. So it has been a huge plus that I have never heard my neighbours or had any complaints about noise during my 5 years. What’s more all the neighbours are super friendly and helpful and any new residents have always been welcomed with open arms into the WhatsApp group chat. It’s with a heavy heart that I’m moving on from my lovely flat as I embark on a new chapter in my life. If not for this change in circumstances I certainly would have stayed.
