There is a wide range of amenities to include independent and national shops, cafes, restaurants, public houses, library, community hospital, health centre, doctors, dentists, supermarkets, leisure centres and swimming pool. The useful transport links are good with a bus station in the town centre and the train station only 10 minutes walk from the town centre. There are 2 primary schools; Leominster Primary School and Westfield's School. Then there is Earl Mortimer College which is a state comprehensive school. The Cathedral City of Hereford is situated approximately 12 miles to the south; approximately 12 miles from Ludlow in Shropshire, 15 miles east of the border with Wales and motorway links are accessible at Worcester just 30 miles to the east.
