The cottage has a lovely sitting area in the entrance porch of the cottage with fabulous views of Loch Striven and the Isle of Bute to the West. The living room is full of character with a stone built fire surround, beamed ceiling and traditional carpet. The kitchen is off the sitting room and is galley style with an electric hob and oven and views to the fields at the back to the property. The double bedroom is to the front and has room for storage in the built in wardrobes. The bathroom is to the rear and has a bath and toilet in one room and the wash hand basin is in the utility room. The heating is electric storage heaters supplemented with the open fire in the sitting room. The loft is floored giving additional space to this lovely property. The windows are double glazed.

The location is outstanding with views to the countryside and surrounding hills to the rear and tremendous views to the front looking towards Loch Striven itself and the Kyles of Bute where there is plenty of activity on the water with sailing boats and the occasional military ships that refuel ½ mile further down the loch. The cottage is approximately 9 miles from Dunoon and 5 miles from Innellan on the A815 leading onto the Glenstriven Road. The postcode for the property is PA23 7UL

The traditional resort town of Dunoon sits on the Cowal Peninsula in Argyll on the west coast of Scotland. Accessible by both land and sea, the trip to Dunoon can either be a ferry crossing over the Firth of Clyde, considered to be one of the best sailing areas in the world, or by a drive through spectacular scenery of dramatic mountains and lochs, each more breathtaking than the last. The area boasts a full calendar of events from food and music festivals to sailing regattas and a Highland Gathering reputed to be the largest and most spectacular in the world. Dunoon itself boasts many bars, coffee shops and restaurants offering local seafood as well as a high street of mainly independent shops offering a refreshingly different shopping experience. Benmore Botanic Garden is well worth a visit with its walled garden, imposing Giant Sequoia trees and hillside walks affording views over Holy Loch, renowned for its shipbuilding tradition and which, for many years, was a US Navy submarine base. With excellent walking, sailing and scenery to be enjoyed, and Glasgow just an hour and a half′s drive away, there is something to delight everyone in this truly beautiful part of Scotland.

On arrival at Glasgow Airport, take the M8 west which runs into the A8, head for Greenock and then Gourock and look for the signs for Western Ferries at McInroy′s Point. This ferry, which does not require pre-booking runs every half hour from 6am or 6.30am (depending on season) until 10.30pm, where after the last ferry is midnight) check the timetable. This will bring you to Hunters Quay, Dunoon, from the ferry terminal turn left and continue through Dunoon, the villages of Innellan and Toward on the A815 . Passing through Toward sailing club the road leaves the coast for a couple of miles and takes a sharp left at Knockdow House which is a grand 12 bedroom country mansion, the road carries on uphill and once at the crest of the hill Loch Striven is in sight at the bottom, a sharp right turn with Meikle Cottage being the second cottage on the right.
