COSTS/CHARGES/CHANGES TO YOUR TENANCY EXPLAINED HOLDING MONIES When you decide to take a property, it is required that you place a holding amount of £100.00.  This will later go towards your rent. A property is not taken from the market/put on hold/other viewings stopped until you put down the holding money. You must also complete an application the same day. Unless a date is agreed for when the references must be received, which will be by joint agreement between the applicant/s and landlord, the holding money can only be kept for 15 days. It must then be returned to you within 7 days if the landlord backs out.
