The picturesque Coventry Canal is within easy reach, with Atherstone being home to some 11 locks, ideal for a relaxing stroll. The town also hosts a series of special events throughout the year, including the Shrove Tuesday Ball Game, now more than 800 years old. Stonefest, a creative arts festival, the annual Party in the Square and the Atherstone Motor Show are also always popular. 

Transport

The A5 trunk road is just minutes away, for journeys to nearby Tamworth (20 minutes), Birmingham (30 minutes), Coventry (30 minutes) and Leicester (42 minutes). Or if you prefer the train, Atherstone station runs services to London Euston in around 1 hour and 20 minutes. Nuneaton station, meanwhile, is around a 15-minute drive, where you can catch trains to Birmingham (30 minutes), Manchester (1 hour and 9 minutes), Coventry (23 minutes) and Leicester (33 minutes).

Education

Those with very young families will have plenty of choice, with the development located just minutes in the car from Atherstone and Ashleigh nursery schools. Parents of slightly older children will also find 3 primary schools within three miles of home – Outwoods, Racemeadow and St Benedict’s – with all three enjoying ‘Good’ ratings from Ofsted. For older students there is plenty of choice, with local options including the Queen Elizabeth Academy (rated ‘Good’) and the ‘Outstanding’-rated Polesworth School. You'll also find Birmingham, Warwick, Leicester, Derby and Nottingham are a great choice for Universities.

Atherstone Visitor & Heritage Centre in Long Street is the perfect place to start, before enjoying a browse at some of the local boutiques.  You’ll find plenty of places to stop for food and drink nearby too.
